Whether you need a small meeting room or a large dynamic space, there is a place on campus that can accommodate you. When paired with the finest quality food and the highest standards of service, the tradition and beauty of Notre Dame will enhance your event.

The menus provide you with examples of some of our most popular packages and standard items. However, this represents only a starting point. You may choose an elaborate display of hors d'oeuvres with a formal entree or a casual buffet offering a variety of foods. We would love to work with you to create a custom menu to fit your specific needs, tailoring your event to your taste and that of your guests. We can help with all the details: food, flowers, linens, coordinating audio visual needs, table décor and equipment rental. Our commitment is to customize and create whatever is required to provide your guests with an unforgettable experience.

General Information

 

The University of Notre Dame thanks you for considering Catering...by design to assist in planning your event.  From formal dinners to meeting refreshments, we are pleased to consult with you on all of your event needs.  In order to ensure success of your function and answer any questions, you will find an outline of our practices and policies below.

 

All menus enclosed are only suggestions.  In fact, we specialize in customizing menus that fit your needs and are designed specifically for your event.  We look forward to working with you to plan a successful event.

 

Following you will find some basic guidelines for your upcoming event.  Please refer to our terms and conditions for a complete list.                       


Facilities

Reserve an appropriate venue for your event as early as possible.  We will assist you with reserving our faculties as well as other on campus.

 

Gratuities/Taxes

A 12% gratuity and 6% Indiana sales tax will be added to your bill.  Groups with tax exempt status must supply this information at the time of making your reservation.

 

Deposits

We may require a deposit at the time of reservation.  Additional deposits will be required for wedding clients.

 

Payment

Payment is due in the Catering...by design office prior to the function.  Payment details may be found in our terms and conditions. Please note we are unable to accept credit card payments.

 

Guarantees

Your final attendance guarantee is needed in our office at least three (3) business days prior to your event.  We will set and prepare for 5% above for events less than 500, and 3% for those larger.  Our minimum charge to you will be the guaranteed number.  Serviced events less than 25 guests or $500 will be charged an additional labor charge.

 

Outside Food and Beverage

No food or beverage of any kind may be brought into any University facility without written permission of the University. 

 

Prices

These prices are correct at the time of printing.

We will confirm prices when you finalize your menu with our office.  Menu prices are subject to change up to fourteen (14) days prior to the event. 

 

Cancellation

Cancellations must be made three (3) business days prior to your event.  Otherwise, you may be liable for the cost incurred and deposits shall be forfeited.

 

Planning

Finalize your menu selection at least three (3) weeks in advance.  Orders placed later will be subject to product availability limitations.  An estimated attendance count is needed at this time for planning.  We can assist you in many of your function needs.  We offer services such as center pieces and planning assistance.

 

Policies

All food and beverages left over from any function remain the property of Catering...by design, and may not be removed from the location of service.

 

Smoking is not allowed in any buildings at the University of Notre Dame, including lobbies and restrooms.

 

We reserve the right to restrict the service of alcoholic beverages in compliance with the policies of the University of Notre Dame and the State of Indiana.
