planning, Notre Dame’s own bakery, and beautiful locations are why Notre Dame is the perfect place to celebrate your whole wedding.

The menus provide you with examples of some of our most popular wedding items in addition to some exceptional new items for the season. However, this represents only a starting point. You may choose an elaborate display of hors d'oeuvres with a formal entree or a casual buffet offering a variety of foods. We would love to work with you to create a custom menu to fit your specific needs, tailoring your event to your taste and that of your guests. We can help with all the details: flowers, linens, coordinating with photographers and other professionals, table décor and ice carvings. From unpretentious and classic to stunning and unusual, our commitment is to customize and create whatever is required to provide your guests with an unforgettable experience.

General Information
Thank you for considering Catering ... by Design to assist in planning your Wedding. From a formal dinner to a midmorning brunch, we are pleased to consult with you regarding all of your needs. To ensure the success of your function and answer your questions, we have outlined some of our practices and policies. All menus enclosed are only suggestions. In fact, we specialize in customizing menus that fit your needs and are designed specifically for your Wedding Reception. We look forward to working with you to make your event successful.

Facilities
Reserve the space you need as soon as possible, whether in our facilities or elsewhere on campus.

Gratuities/Taxes
A 15% gratuity and 6% Indiana sales tax will be added to your bill.

Prices
These prices are correct at the time of printing. We will confirm prices when you finalize your menu with our office. Prices include typical facility arrangement needs. Additional costs may be incurred for major space changes such as moving round tables into South Dining Hall. These charges will be based on the labor requirements.

Cancellations
Cancellations must be made at least two weeks prior to your event. If done less than two weeks prior, you may be liable for some or all the cost incurred.

Policies
All food and beverages left over from any function remain the property of Catering ... by Design, and may not be removed from the location of service.

Special Dietary Arrangements
We can provide vegetarian options designed specifically for your group. Also, any other dietary restrictions may be accommodated. Smoking is not allowed in any public space in the buildings at the University of
Notre Dame, including lobbies and restrooms. We reserve the right to restrict the service of alcoholic beverages in compliance with the policies of the University of Notre Dame and the State of Indiana.

Special Services
Catering ... by Design provides the following services for your wedding reception at no additional cost: Complimentary cake cutting, white linen and skirting, special day of arrangements, all china, glassware and silverware, and a free champagne toast with a complete wedding. A complete wedding includes hors d’oeuvres, dinner, bar, and wedding
cake all provided by Catering … by Design.

Additional Arrangements
We can assist in providing you at a reasonable charge the following details based on market prices: Specialty Linens, Floral Services, Hurricane and Votive Candles, Menu Card Preparation, Wine and Bar Services, Formal Ice Carvings, Musical Contacts, Specialty Service Wares And Draperies to Enhance Room Arrangements

Wedding Cakes
The Notre Dame Bakeshop can prepare for you a beautiful and delicious wedding cake. We will work with you to select and design a cake which meets your personal tastes and preferences.

Children Arrangements
Children require some special thought at your event. We can assist you by providing a special menu as well as non-alcoholic reception arrangements.

Payment Requirements

We require a non-refundable deposit to reserve a Notre Dame Food Service dining space at the time of reservation. Two months prior to your event, we require payment equal to 50% of your total final bill and a signed copy of your event contract. Ten days prior to your event, we require final payment. Any additional charges incurred at the event will be billed to the contact at the billing address given following your event.

Payment can be made with cash, personal check or cashiers check.

 

Planning
In order to maintain the smoothest possible planning for your special event, we would like your menu selection, an estimated count, and a basic room layout no later than two months in advance of your reception. One week prior to your reception, you will need to inform Catering ... by Design of your final guest count and table needs.
