*Included* at no extra fee in your Notre Dame Housing Fee is a choice between two meal plans -- either the defaulted Gold Plan or the requested Blue Plan. For incoming on-campus freshmen and on-campus transfer students who are attending orientation, Meal Access Card will be provided through orientation for appropriate dining hall access prior to you receiving your ID card.
The last meal of Fall 2009 is December 18, 2009. The last meal of Spring 2010 is May 7, 2010. All Flex Points expire at the end of the academic Spring Semester, on 5/16/10. If you would like to add additional flex points to your account, please visit the Card Services Office in person to charge your student account, or pay by check or cash.
The Gold Plan
This flexible plan (on which all students are placed at the beginning of each semester) provides both Flex Points ($330.00 placed on your ID card at the beginning of each semester) and a weekly allotment of up to 14 board meals in our all you care to eat dining halls (North or South). Flex Points are accepted in Notre Dame's retail food service establishments. Unused Flex Points from Fall Semester carry over into Spring Semester (at which time an additional $330.00 are added to your ID card), and all Flex Points expire at the end of the academic Spring Semester (5/16/2010).
The Blue Plan
A Notre Dame tradition... This plan offers you up to one meal per meal period in our all you care to eat dining halls (North or South) during each meal period when these locations are open. The Blue Plan offers the budget-conscious student an exceptional value. To request the Blue Plan, submit within the first two weeks of *each* semester (no later than Monday, September 7, 2009) an email to idcard@nd.edu with "Change to Blue Plan" in the subject line, with your complete name and ndID '90' number in the text.
(If you decide you prefer the Blue Plan instead of the Gold Plan, be aware there is no change in cost.)
After September 7, 2009, the most recently requested meal plan will be final for Fall Semester.
In short, with the Gold Plan there are available for use up to 14 meals per week (plus Flex Points), and with the Blue Plan there are available for use up to 21 meals per week with no Flex Points. Over 99% of resident undergraduates choose to remain on the defaulted Gold Plan.
Additional Flex Points for on-campus undergraduates may be purchased in the Card Services Office and charged to your Student Account.
Special Privilege available to Resident Undergraduates:
